I was fortunate enough to get my hands on Coda 2 yesterday so I could take it for a spin and kick the tires.
I've been using Coda since it first came out and was extremely excited to start using the new version. It truly addresses every issue I had with the first version.
First Glance
- fun interface
- big change from the 1st version
Interface Changes
- Viewing sites
- getting lost in the file browser
- searching files
- Transmit built-in
- CSS helpers
Workflow Changes
- Publishing is more of a pain in the butt so I started using the keyboard shortcuts, CMD + Option + P (publish current file) and CMD + Shift + P (publish all files)
- SVN view is less useful and has oddities (like status showing "update" while committing and other small things like that can be confusing
- Indenting is different
- code collapsing is half-assed but there!
- color scheme options are limited but good options in general
- MySQL built in = awesome
Crashing
- Dragging an icon to the sidebar toolbar
Significant Bugs
- SVN updates not getting marked for publishing
In Conclusion
- A great upgrade from version 1 oif you're not using source control
- Not a great editor for the technically challenged
